A new development of industrial and distribution units in Selby North Yorkshire has been given the green light for 2021. Commercial property developer Priority Space is behind the £6.5m development, in a joint venture with HP Construction. It will provide 66,000 square feet of workspace in 30 units ranging in size from 1,000 to 5,000 sq ft.
The speculative build is on the last remaining piece of undeveloped land on Selby’s ‘Access 63’ industrial estate. Construction is due to commence in March and complete in October.
Director of Priority Space Adam Richardson said: “We’re very pleased to have now secured planning permission for this new development for 2021. Our new-build units will fill the last remaining four-acre plot at Access 63, one of the largest industrial site projects to have been developed in Yorkshire over the last ten years. The units will offer small and medium sized businesses the opportunity to benefit from Access 63’s prime location and excellent road links.”
Access 63 is a 12-acre site providing 100,000 square feet of industrial and warehouse space in total. It lies just south of Selby town centre, within easy reach of the M62 and A1(M), leading to York just 12 miles away,
Priority Space’s new units will have access off East Common Lane and stand in a prominent position overlooking the A63 Selby by-pass. Near neighbours include a Yodel distribution centre, Welsh Power and Vanos Medical.
Built over two phases, the units will be available for sale or lease and can be supplied on a ‘design and build’ basis with future tenants. Enquiries are being handled by Gent Visick and Rhodes CRE.
