Competition launches to name new retail park in Kingswood

We’ve launched a competition in partnership with Hull City Council to name the new retail development on Wawne Road, Kingswood.

The development will be opened in May and will include a One Stop convenience store, veterinary practice, pharmacy, bakery, takeaways and a family restaurant.

Adam Richardson, co-director at Priority Space, said: “We’re looking for a name which reflects the area and gives the retail development a clear identity. The retail park has been designed to meet the needs of the community it serves so we’re delighted to invite them to have their say and choose a name which puts it on the map. It’s really important to us wherever we build that our developments become part of the community and owned by the community.”

The retail development on Wawne Road, Kingswood is part of a partnership between the council and property consortium KSHP - made up of housing developer Keepmoat, Strata Homes, Persona, part of Home Group and commercial property specialists, Priority Space. The partnership will deliver 1660 new homes on Wawne Road, of which the first phase of 747 is well underway.

Entries into the naming competition can be made by email, telephone or post – details on how to enter can be found at: Follow the Hull Foredyke Neighbourhood team at Hull City Council on Twitter for updates: @HCCForedyke.

The competition closes at 5pm on Tuesday 26 March. The chosen name for the development will be announced in April.
