Priority Space will deliver a £2.5m mixed-use retail development in Hull.
Work has begun on ten retail units on Wawne Road between North Bransholme and Kingswood in Hull.
The units, due for completion in May 2019, will include a One Stop convenience store, a veterinary practice, pharmacy, bakery and takeaways, plus a family restaurant. The scheme will also see an extension at nearby Broadacre Primary School, two new public parks and a new nursery.
The mixed-use retail development in Kingswood, Hull, is part of a partnership between the council and property consortium KSHP - made up of housing developer Keepmoat, Strata Homes, Persona, part of Home Group and commercial property specialists, Priority Space. The partnership will deliver 1660 new homes on Wawne Road, of which the first phase of 747 is well underway.

Wawne Road is a strategic housing development site in the local authority’s economic vision for the city, and part of the Kingswood Area Action Plan, developed in 2016 to provide new housing, retail, leisure, and employment facilities in the Kingswood area.
Councillor John Black, Portfolio Holder for Council Infrastructure and responsible for housing at Hull City Council, said: “With the start of construction we are seeing yet again how the council is spurring economic activity at a local level.
“This project is an integral part of the continued growth in the area, transforming the area into a vibrant commercial and residential hub, jobs will be created and retained, and it is this investment in our people that will continue to push the area forward.”

Priority Space is working with letting agents Garness Jones - one of the largest property consultants in the Humber region, and leading property consultants, Barnsdales to fill the remaining commercial units to meet the needs of residents.
Paul White, agency director at Garness Jones, said: “There is a considerable amount of house building going on now and the builders report that the properties are selling well, and some are already occupied. The businesses which move onto this site will be in a great location – it’s very convenient for the people in the new homes and for residents in neighbouring areas.”
Craig Gooddy, associate at Barnsdales, said: “There is already a lot of interest in the units, which are available for sale or lease. The scale of the wider development, which includes construction of new homes, makes this a site of regional significance and we’ll be promoting it to potential inward investors.”
